Dance Instructors

Josie began dancing at the age of 3 at the Norridge Park District School of Dance. Since then, she has trained with many different dance companies in Chicago. She has trained in tap, ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, contemporary and modern. Some of her other experience includes participating in an intensive with the Chicago Human Rhythm Project in the summer of 2018, participating in dance competitions, and performing in shows like the Nutcracker in 2019 and dancing in musicals such as “Guys and Dolls” in 2018. This is her second year as a teacher at the Norridge Park District School of Dance. Her classes involve a standard dance curriculum with terminology and technique, along with encouraging her students to be confident and creative.

Proper Attire for Dance Classes:

Please make sure students are dressed and ready in proper dance attire and shoes, and hair is pulled back and off of their face. Proper dance attire should include articles of clothing like: tights, leotards, bike shorts, and stretch-pants. Please no jeans, jean shorts, or dresses.

Bathroom Usage During Class:

Students should try and use the bathroom prior to coming to dance class. Students are allowed to use the bathroom during class, but please be aware that they will be going upstairs to the bathroom without their dance instructor's assistance.

Parents Guidelines During Dance Class:

While students are in class all parents are to wait in the lobby outside of the classroom until their class is through. This is to alleviate any distractions during class.

Please note that there is absolutely NO gum, food, drink, toys, etc. allowed in class!
