POOL SEASON SUMMER 2024

Opening Date - Summer 2024

At this time it is estimated the pool will open early July.  This is mainly dependent on the weather  as the majority of construction is outside.

Summer Season Pass

The park district will be selling season pool passes for 2024.  Prices and dates will be available April 22.  Prices for the 2024 season will account for the shortened swim season.

Swim Team

We are currently working with our neighbors at the Park District of Franklin Park to utilize their outdoor pool for our swim team practices for Summer 2024 Season until our pool is completed.  Additional information will be available once details have been finalized.

Swim Lessons

Swim Lessons will be available July 15 - August 9.  Registration information will be available shortly.

POOL REPLACEMENT PROJECT

CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS 

March 15, 2024 Update

Crews have finished pouring the Dive Pool walls and stripped the formwork. Work will continue in this area the week of 3/18 to extend pool piping and backfill; dive tower footings and columns are to be formed and reinforced before pouring the week of 4/1.

Leisure Pool floor was poured 3/14. Formwork has been started and reinforcing will continue through the week of 3/25 prior to the next pour.

Work has started for the Sprayground infrastructure and balance tank. Floor formwork, reinforcing and drain line installation to complete prior to pour expected the week of 3/25. Work then continues with forming and reinforcing balance tank walls.

Pool Equipment room work is ongoing; hoist beam and pit railing & ladder installation has been completed. Chemical rooms have had the concrete masonry unti walls completed and painted; framing for the gypsum board ceilings has been started. A new hot water heater has been installed and switchover completed. Variable frequency drives for the pit pumps have been installed on the wall; VFDs will modulate the power and motors of the pumps. Work continues week of 3/18 on piping and conduit work currently underway.

February 16, 2024

Crews have finished dive pool excavation, framed the interior and exterior walls and are installing the reinforcing. Next the walls will be poured.  Anticipate week of 2/26.

Leisure Pool was excavated before the deep freeze in January. Since that date the floor was framed, stoned, and the main drains, under drains and inlet piping was installed and concrete encased. Work will continue over the next week or so with some additional framing details and reinforcing before the floor is poured during the week of 2/26.

The pump and filters have been installed in the pool equipment room as well as penetrations through the pit walls for piping and electrical raceways for pumps and exterior infrastructure. Work continues next week with installation of steel railings at pump pit and steel hoist beam for pump removal, new hot water heater, domestic switchover and then begin masonry walls for chemicals rooms.

January 30, 2024

Construction continues on the Pool Project.  Currently, the Dive Pool and Leisure Pool are being formed.  Interior work on the Mechanical Room continues.
